Private Hypnobirthing + Antenatal Sessions
For when you’d quite like someone to say, “Okay, let’s talk it through together”
Four antenatal sessions tailored to you, access to The Confident Birth Club and personal support from the moment you book until your baby arrives.
In your own home across the North East, or online wherever you are.
And by “talk it through” I mean the stuff that’s actually going round your head
The “What if I panic?” The “How will I know when I need more pain relief?” The “I understood it in the appointment, but now I’ve got about twelve questions”
We’ll make time for those conversations, so you can work out what you need, what you want to ask and what you and your partner can do when the moment comes.
You’ve always been the one who thinks things through
And usually, that’s quite useful.
But pregnancy has given you rather a lot to think about and apparently your brain would like an answer to all of it before you can switch off.
You read about epidurals and finish less sure than when you started. Someone mentions induction and you’re straight onto Google. You save another birth post because it might be useful, even though you haven’t looked at the last forty.
You’re putting plenty of effort into preparing. You’d just quite like to feel more prepared as a result.
Underneath all the research is the question you actually want answered:
“When it’s my turn, will I know what to do?”
You want to feel able to work through contractions, speak up when you need something and trust your decisions without spending the evening checking them all over again.
That’s what we’ll work towards together.
Four sessions where we can follow a question all the way through
If you tell me you’re scared of the pain, we can explore what you’re imagining, understand your pain relief options and practice things you can use during a contraction.
If you’re worried you’ll agree to something because you feel awkward asking questions, we can practice some key questions that don’t feel uncomfortable saying out loud.
If you’re hoping for a water birth but can’t stop wondering whether a pool will be available, we can explore what matters to you about that plan and how you could feel supported if it changes.
We’ll cover the foundations of antenatal education and hypnobirthing, then spend time applying them to you.
So you finish with things you’ve practiced, questions you can ask and preferences you can explain.
Here’s what I want that to look like for you…
At your appointments
You take your main questions in with you. When you hear something unfamiliar, you can say, “Can you explain what that means for me?”
If induction is recommended, you know to ask why, what your options are and how soon a decision is needed.
You leave knowing the next step, including who to ask about anything that’s still unclear.
During contractions
When your brain starts saying, “I can’t do this,” you have something familiar to focus on: your breathing, movement or your partner’s voice.
You can try another position when one stops helping, or talk about more pain relief if needed.
And you’re not self-conscious about making noise or doing whatever helps you feel safe, because you know it’s going to help.
When plans change
You and your partner have already discussed what matters to you across different types of birth.
Where there’s time, you can ask questions and talk privately before deciding. If things need to happen quickly, your partner knows what helps you feel supported.
And you can change your mind about a preference without feeling you’ve let yourself down.
Feel like a team before labour even begins
You probably don’t want to spend labour explaining how your birth partner can support you between contractions.
So we’ll practice together beforehand.
They’ll try massage and positions with you. Learn how to guide your breathing. Find out whether you want encouragement, quiet or absolutely nobody asking you another question.
We’ll talk through your preferences so they can help bring them into conversations when you’re concentrating on labour.
And they’ll understand that if you ask for an epidural, “But you said you didn’t want one” is unlikely to be their finest contribution.
You’ll both have a clearer idea of what to do, so all the preparation doesn’t have to live in your head.
The midwife appointment is over. But Your brain is only just getting started…
At the time, it all seemed to make sense.
Then you get home and remember the question you meant to ask. Or start wondering what that recommendation would involve. Or realise you nodded along when you weren’t actually sure how you felt.
You can message me.
We can unpack what was discussed, make sense of the information and work out what you want to ask your maternity team next.
And it doesn’t have to be appointment-related. Maybe someone’s birth story has got into your head. Perhaps you’re having a wobble about something you felt fine about last week. Or you just need a rant.
Send the voice note. Including the one that starts, “Sorry, this might be a bit of a ramble.”
We’ll work out what needs a practical next step and what’s a “what if” that another hour on Google won’t resolve.
So you can put the phone down with a clearer idea of what to do next, rather than opening another seventeen tabs.
Text, voice note or call — whatever feels easiest. Your unlimited support starts when you book and continues until your baby arrives.
Hi, I’m Holly. I’m interested in the bit after “I know, but…”
“I know birth is normal, but I’m still scared”
“I know I have choices, but I don’t want to make the wrong one”
“I know I should stop Googling, but what if I’ve missed something?”
I’m a Mental Health Therapist, Birth Educator and Mum of two. And those are exactly the kinds of conversations I make room for.
Alongside learning about birth, we’ll explore why a worry keeps coming back and practice ways to respond to it.
That might mean noticing when you’re treating someone else’s difficult experience as a prediction of your own. Or recognising when you’re researching to feel certain about something that nobody can promise.
And if “I’m not someone who’ll cope well” has started to feel like a fact, we can look at that together too.
I want you to have reasons to trust yourself that actually mean something to you.
And if you’ve done this before, “You know what to expect” might not feel particularly reassuring
You might know exactly which part you’re worried about.
Being examined. Feeling unheard. Something happening quickly while you’re still trying to understand what’s going on.
We can make space for what you’d like to feel different this time, without you having to share every detail of your previous birth (unless of course you want to - then I’m all ears!)
That might mean writing down what you want your maternity team to understand, talking through what helps you feel comfortable during examinations or agreeing how your partner can support you if you become overwhelmed.
So your preparation reflects what you’ve been through and what you need now.
Here’s what we’ll work through together
-
What happens as labour progresses, what you might notice and what you and your partner can do along the way.
We’ll cover different types of birth, including induction, assisted birth and caesarean birth, so you can understand what they involve and explore your preferences.
You’ll be able to talk through what matters to you across different situations, rather than getting stuck trying to write a plan for every possibility.
-
We’ll explore what’s behind your particular worries, including the belief that being anxious means you won’t cope.
You’ll practice ways to ground yourself, work through a worry and recognise when research has turned into looking for reassurance that never quite lasts.
So when you get into bed and your brain starts another round of “What if…”, you have a way to respond beyond picking up your phone.
-
We’ll practice breathing, relaxation, movement, positions and massage, and talk through medical pain relief options.
You and your partner can find out what feels helpful before labour starts, including where you like pressure, how you want to be spoken to and what you’d like to try first.
And you’ll understand your options if you want more support, without feeling you’ve somehow failed at hypnobirthing.
-
We’ll work through your birth preferences and explore how to ask questions when something is recommended.
You can practise saying things like, “What’s the reason you’re recommending this for me?” or “I’m feeling overwhelmed. Can we go through one thing at a time?”
We’ll also discuss what you’d want your team to know about examinations, communication and consent, so you have words for the things that help you feel comfortable.
-
We’ll make space for what happens once your baby is here: physical recovery, emotional wellbeing and practical support.
That means conversations about who’s handling meals, washing and messages. What you want visits to look like. How you and your partner can check in when you’re both tired.
You’ll also know where to turn with questions about recovery, feeding or your mental health, so asking for help doesn’t start with figuring out who to ask.
